Loaves and Fishes Ministries began as a dream and a calling to serve our homeless brothers and sisters. The Loaves and Fishes story of Jesus feeding 5,000 with 5 loaves of bread and two fishes was the inspiration not only for the name of the ministry but for the underlying belief that, somehow, a little would go a long way and all would be fed.
Time has given us a multitude of Loaves and Fishes stories; from donated services of repair people and attorneys to large sums of money given from estates of former volunteers and guests. We have even had anonymous cash mailed to us with notes of gratitude and letters of thanks years later from former guests.
However, Loaves and Fishes Ministries continues to rely primarily on donations, governmental grants and fundraising to sustain the ministry. In 2013-2014, 50% of our revenue was a result of individual and group giving. We could not meet our financial obligations without your generosity.
Current political decisions and their impact on our economy indicate that we will see a sizeable decline in governmental funding in the future. So, we continue to rely heavily on individual contributions to support our ministry – to help the “five loaves” feed the many. Thank you for your donation. Whatever you are able to give is greatly appreciated.
