November 15th – 23rd is National Hunger and
Homeless Awareness Week!
Homeless Awareness Week (HAW) is an annual national effort to raise public awareness about hunger and homelessness. HAW has taken place for 20 years in Michigan. Please consider taking time to bring awareness to others about the continued growing problem of hunger and homelessness during this week before Thanksgiving. We all know that just one week of bringing awareness to this matter is not enough yet it is a start.
If you need ideas for your church groups or civic organizations, please download the HAW Manual through the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness website. The manual provides various activities and tools for promoting Homeless Awareness Week.
We at Loaves & Fishes Ministries resolve to fight poverty by doing our small part to feed and house the homeless. We ask that you share your stories and experiences from working with the homeless in your community. Encourage others to get involved.
When we share our bounty with others, it makes Thanksgiving sweeter! Have a blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends.
